A social and auction eaJo in aid of tho I!ed Crosa Fund was held in tho Aehley Bchoolroom, and was very largely attended. A sheep given by Mr J. Stewart for a. gueseing comrwtition realised £1 19e, and waa won by Mrs Downing and Mr J. Wood, who each guessed exact weight (Glib). A ceko given by Mre Compton for a guessing competition brought in £2 6e od. Missos Thomas, Loffhagon, and ilea&is R. Croft and F. Bailey each guessed the exact weight (61b 12oz). Flowers presented by Mr Downing, and cold by Misses JJ. Downing , and L. Smith reolised £3 Os 3d. Songs wcro given by Messrs F. Pilcher and J. Itealey, und a recitation by Mre Bowbyce. Tho mueic for the danco was fiupplied free by Messrs Fitzpibbone, P. G. BlancheU, F. Bailey, and Miss Scotl. Mr W. I. Jamieson was Tho Fund will benefit by £61 Cs.
