THE DARDANELLES. BRITISH ADVANCE. REPORTED CAPTURE OF COMMANDING HILL. NARROWS FORTS BOMBARDED. ATHENS, May 2. The British at Sedd-el-Bahr advanced and captured Karaba Tepeh hill, commanding a large portion of the peninsula. Its capture greatly facilitates the destruction of the Turkish mobile batteries, which have seriously hampered the mine-sweeping. The town of I>ardadeh is reported to have been destroyed. Turkish troops have been concentrated in the vicinity of Maidos. " The fleet violently bombarded tho Nagara forts, whioh did not reply. - A report from Mitylene states, that the purpose of tho French troops, which was to facilitate the British landing at Sedd-el-Bahr, having been achieved, they have re-embarked from Kum Kale for a secret destination, (Received May 3rd, 9.20 p.m.) j ATHENS, May 3. Reliablo advices from Constantinople state that five thousand Turkish wpunded have arrived from the Dardanelles.
