GERALDINE.
An entertainment, promoted by the members of -the Geraldine* Presbyterian Bible Class, in aid of tbe Presbyterian Orphanage, Christchurch, was given on Thursday night in the Church Hall. There was a very largo attendance, tho hall being crowded to the doors and the sum of.nearly £20 was realised. Tho Rev. A. B. Todd gave a brief account of the work undertaken by the Orphanage in Christchurch, and showed how much bad been accomplished in thrco years. Tho programme given proved most enjoyable and was opened by appropriate tableaux representing Faith, Hope and Chanty, beveral attractive items were given by a number of juveniles, including Ribbon Drill and a Doll's A vocal duet was given by Miss May Todd and Mr H. F. Webster and solos.were sung by Messrs G. Knibb, F. Trott, and AVefister. Mr H. Nayior contributed a few humorous songs and a piano solo was played by Mr \V. Brown, and a duet by the Misses-Shcrratfc. A choir under the baton of Mr A- Bain, g-we jtho anthem. ''Consider ( imd Hear Mo rPflenccr*) and a glee "The Jvong Day The «™™?™- ments were played by Miss X G.mton and Miss E. Sherratt. •
