COVERING HATCHWAYS.
Early legislation making it compulsory for shipping companies to provide nets to cover the mouths of hatchways when tho batcnea are being removed or glaocd in position, and thus prevent accidents, is asked for in the Houso of Representatives by Mr Atmoro, who states that fatal accidents aro continually happening through' absence of auch a protection as that pugg-stod.
