RIMTJTAItA DEVIATION. A NEW STATION FOR THE CAPITAL.
(SPECIAL to "therm Ess.") WELLINGTON, July 9. In replying to a deputation from representatives of local bodies and Onambers of Commerce in tho Wellington provincial district, the Prime Minister stated this evening that the question of a deviation of the Bimutaka nilway had been considered by tho Government. The Govrnment had'not cecioed what snouid be done, but i hnd decided that some improvement must be matte. If necessary a Commission of eiperte would oe appointed to go into the matter. In regard to the two "anticruated" railway btations in Wellington euy, Air Massev said that the Government had mado "up its mind that oat of the loan which would be proposed for x»|*»7 improvements, Parliament should be asked to provide for a proper railway. Sation in Wellington- The Cavern. ment intended to do everything possible to do justice to the Wellington province without doing any injustice to other parts of Now Zealand. He added that the General Manager of Railways (Mr E. BL Eiley) was proparing an elaborate report on the worKing of the whole of tho railways.
