On Wednesday a'fancy dress ball was held iv the Town Hall.* Belfast, alder the auspices of the local Social and Athletic Club. The function was a groat success, about thiirtv couples being present. On tho popular vote Miss B. 'Huston, 'Carnival," and Miss M. Carter. "Mercia." wero declared the host dressed ladies, and Mr Halligan, "Cardinal Wolsey." and Mr G. Esmond's. •'Mephistopheles." the best dressed gentleman. Mr E. R-jdkin was M.C.
