GREENDALE CIRCUIT
Tho quarterly meeting •of tho Greendale-3f.alvorn Circuit was held at Darfield, whoa the Rev. J. Harris presided ever a representative attendance of officials. The income and expenditure for tho quarter almost balanced. Special collections are to bo taken during September in aid of the Local Preachers' Mutual Aid Association, and also for an amount subscribed towards the Territorial camp expenses associated with tho V.M.C.A. The platform of tho Bsblo-in-Schools League was considered, and adopted. The meeting unanimously agreed that a circuit banking account be opened, aud guarantors wero. appointed to mako tbo necessary arrangements. About fifteen or sixteen new members had been received during tho quarter. It was reported that a successful Young People s week-night meeting was in operation at Grceudale. OXFORD CIRCUIT. The quartorly meeting of the Oxford Methodist Church was held on Wed- j nosdav night. The Rev. W, Sinclair presided, aud there was a representative attendance of members. The receipts for tho quarter were £10 12a, and the expenditure £-3G 5s 6d. leaving a credit balance of £1 (3s 6d. The church was reported to be in a healthy condition, tbo congregation, both morning and evening, being good. Tho membership and' Sunday School reports were satisfactory. It decided to hold homo mission meetings on August 30th and 31st, and that the Rev. W. Wills bo the deputation. Retiring collections wero authorised on behalf of the Methodist Local Preachers' .Mutual Aid Association.
