At Glasgow, the Town Clerk read a civic address of welcome, and Mr McKinnon Wood handed the King a reply thereto. The King began to read the document, but after tho first few words looked puzzled, and it was realised that something was wrong. It was found that Mr Wood bad given Him the wrong reply. The King and Queen and all present burst into hearty laughter.
