LEESTON.
Tho half-yearly summoned meeting of the Loyal London Lodge of Oddfellows, M.U., was held on Monday evening, N.G. Bro. H. Jackson presiding over a good attendance of members. Six brethren woro reported on the sick fund. A letter of recommendation was granted to a brother to enable him to get on.-the doctor's list of the lodge in the district whore he' resides. It was decided to invite the members of the Doyleston Druids' Lodge to a game of cards on Monday, July 27th. Officers for tho ensuing half-year were elected as follows:—G.M. and L.M., Bro. H. Jackson; N.G., Bio. G. L. Blacklor; V.G., Bro. D. Reid; E.S., Bro. "W. Parkin, P.G.; auditors, Bros. W. McVinnio, Jas. McVinnie, and A. Brown, P.G.s; R:S. to N.G.. Bro. A. Baylis, P.G.; L.S. to N.G., Bro. H. Donaldson, P.G.; R.S. to V.G!, Bro. A." Brown, P.G.; L.S. to V.G., Bro. H. Hay; Guardian, Bro. Wm. McVinnie, P.G.; Warden, Bro. Jas. McVinnio, P.G. A hearty vote of thanke was Accorded the retiring . Grand Master. Bro. T. J. Paton, and it was decided to present him with a certificate of merit, to recommend him for tho purple degree, and to place his name on the merit board. One candidate for membership was proposed. SPRINGSTON. The Springston bTancb, of the Mothers' Union held a meeting in the Public Hall last week, when there was a record attendance. The Rev. Mr HiU of Lincoln, addressed the meet-
ing, and afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Kirn© and Scarlett. . The quarterly meeting of the Springston Methodist Church was. held in the Sunday School, seventeen members being present. The receipts were not sufficient to meet the expenditure, but it was hoped to clear off the deficit before the accounts, were closed. Tea was provided by Mrs Penney at the parsonage. The annual Foreign Missionary meeting was held in the Springston Church' on Monday. There was a somewhat small attendance. The Rev. Hudson, of Christchurch, delivered an address, and set forth the claims of the mission fields for support. Ho was given a hearty vote of thanks for his address. - • ■ x
