SOUTHBRIDGE,

A sitting of the Southbridgo Magistrate's Court was held on Friday, before Dr. Withers and Mr J. Stony, J. P.'s. In Chapman Broe. v. H. Taylor, claim £5 Bs, and Riordan Bros. v. 11.. Johnson, claim £7 10s, judgment was given for plaintiffs by default. Money and Suttou claimed £1 2s from T. E. Gamble. The claim was defended. Herbert Money stated thai on May £2nd or 23rd last _ defendant asked an employee of his firm to erect a fence for him. The man erected a fence, and the job took eleven hours. The amount charged was at the rate of 2s per hour. Defendant admitted that the man had been working eleven hours, but cpntended that as it°was not skilled labour he was not entitled to more than Is per hour. He had paid 11s into Court. The Bench took a different view, and gave judgment for the amount claimed and costs.
