ASHBURTON MARKET REPORT,
Samples of oats are now offering more freely as a largo quantity of grain has been threshed from stook during the past fortnight, chiefly oats, although wheat is also being threshed out of stook. Owing to the wot weather, which caught a lot of wheat while in stook, tho etook-threshed samples are not all that could be desired for condition.
Wheat—Values for new wheat may be quoted as from 3s 3d to 3s 4d for Tuscan; Hunters, 3s 5d ; Pearl, 39 5d to 3s ed; on trucks at country stations.
Oats—Buyers are showing no desire to operate at over Is Cd to la 6£d for the best quality Gartons, and,- as business even on this basis is restricted to Dominion trade, in face of the present season's crop being ample for local requirements, there is an absence of speculation. Xhm oats are worth. Is Cd for heavy, good-coloured samples; Algerians, Is 4d to Is Gd, according to quality.
Chaff —Only a small demand now exists for old chaff, value of which is 55s to 57s 6d, on trucks. New chaff is worth from 47s Cd to 50b, for approved quality and condition.
