AMERICAN ATHLETES IN SYDNEY
THEIR FINAL APPEARANCE

SYDNEY. February 22
The American athletes made their final appearance at the New South Wales Championship Meeting. Later they sailed for San Francisco by tho Aorangi.
The 220 Yards Championship of New South Wales resulted: — Parker (America) 1, Harwood (Sydney) 2. Parker did the distance in 22 4-sth 6ec, a record.
In the Pole Vault, Templeton (America) cleared lift 61 in. The previous record -was 10ft 10 J in.
Parker also won his heat in the 120 Yards Handicap in 11 4-oth sec, an Australian record.
..Throwing the 161b hammer, W. J. O'Reilly covered 136 ft 4Jin, a New fcJouth Wales record.
The Three Milos event xras won by P. Longman in 15min 54 l-sth sec.
- The 440 Yards Hurdles resulted:— J. W. Frazer 1, T. Cole 2, Templeton (America) 3. >ion easily by ten yards. Time 61 l-sth sec.
Half-mile: A. Thorpe I, Power (America) 2. Won by six yards. Time, lmin 59 4-sth ccc.
The Running High Jump was won by J. Smith, who cleared sft 9in. Four others, including Templeton, tied for second place with sft 6in. Potter (Sydney) won the jump off.
"Running Hop, Step and Jump was won by Maher, who cleared 43ft sin.
