MASTER PRINTERS' ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING.
(press association telegram.) NEW PLYMOUTH, February 20.
Tho annual meeting of the Master Printers' Association was held to-day, there being the largest and most repre-sentative-attendance during the seven years the Association has been in existence. Mr W. G. Somerville (president) presided,, and much important business was brought forward, including a number of remits from different unions, on which an animated discussion took placo. The retiring officers were elected as follows:; —President, Mr G. Somerville (Dunedin); vice-president, Mr W. Smith (Invercargill); council, Messrs J. Cooke (Dunedin), L. T. Watkins (Wellington), T. Jones (Wellington). J. Gamble. (Christchurch), and J. Wright (Auckland); 'organising secretary, Mr S. H. Reid.
Both pressmen and printers have been entertained during the week in various outings by the local newspaper proprietors and printers. The visitorhave been motored to the Mountain House, entertained at a garden party, and been the guests of tho Bowling, lenms, and Golf Clubs. The weather throughout has been ideal
Appreciative mention was made at the conclusion of the various meetings to the hospitality and kindness shown the visitors by the local people, and special votes of thanks accorded them. The northern delegates left by steamer to-night, and the southern contingent leave by tho mail train tomorrow. Several are staving a few days longer in the district.
