(SPECIAL TO "THE PRI3S.") BLENHEIM, February 20. Tho chief interest to-night centred in the life-caving event. Thia was an object lesson to the onlookers. Both of tho Canterbury teams were slower than Wellington, although the A team's style was much admired.

In the 50yds Dash, &x>k6on, Truscott, Davidson, Annand, Poison, and Brightling qualified for" the semi-finalj, and Cookeon and Davidson were left in the final. Neither managed, however, to got up in time. Champion easily maintained his title to tho 220yd3 Championship, but it was a good race. The holder hnd a slight advantage at the first turn, and when 7oyd_ had gone Atkinson, Champion, and his club mate (Sinton) touched together. After another length had gone Champion ran away from the others and the order waa Champion, Atkinson, and Sinton, with the others well in the rear. The finish saw Champion a good five yards in front of Atkiraon, with Sinton somo yards back, third. Both Champion and Atkinson were within the standard.

The 100 yds Ladies' Championship was a splendid raoe. Miss McKenzie stuck well to the champion, but Mise A. O'Leary was too strong at tho turns, and ehe eventually won by four yards. Miss Ead© (Christchurch. was not far behind the placed girle. The 75yd_ Schoo'boy Championship was an eaay thing for the Canterbury boy, who won slowing down by a couple of feet. Geddes has something of Champion's style, and waa. never bustled.

In tho 100 yds Relay Race East Christchurch were unfortunate in being disqualified Over eagerness caused tho first swimmer to leap before hi. call. The Opawa team were left in the final but failed to get there.
