Tbe Mayor reported that ho had attended a liio-tinK regarding tho orection or a pavilion at the Domain, and steps wore now being taken in that direction. Ha had insiructod the Town Clerk to writo to Inspector Hugo, asking him to visit the borough and report on a fire prevention system. The inspector had replied that lie could only report witlthe permission of the -Minister of Internal Affairs. Tho dork had sinco written to tho Minister asking permission for Inspector Hugo to roport as desired. A letter was received from the Spreydon Borough Council no-jfy-ing that a conference of "local bodies regarding the equitable distribution of rerenue derived from motor taxation was being called. The question of the abolition of all wooden brkipes over side channels was referred back to tho By-laws Committee for further con sideratiou.
