"CHUCK THEM IN THE THAMES."
Two suffragettes hoisted flags on tho Fife monument inscribed "Death or Liberty," and threw about leaflets. An excited crowd assembled, and! the suffragettes rushed for refugo into a houso and bolted the door. The police broko down tho door and arrested them. A largo force of polico then protected the suffragettes from a huge threatening crowd, who were shouting "Chuck them in the Thames." After sheltering in tho police station for somo hours tlio women woro released.
