COMPULSORY SERVICE.
NECESSITY DENIED. ■ Mr C. E . Hobhouse, speaking at Bristol, denied the necessity of compulsory service, and said that there were no commitments of any sort with Continental nations. The action of tho Dominions had .enormously reduced tho possibility of a call upon the Motherland.
