The three sailing races ca -ho programme &trracied a gteat deal cf interest, although they -were spoiled in their early stages by a calm. got a lea<i on Onawe. loranpi was. bowling along throughout the race. «cd kept her bi;r tcad, and sho finished an easy first, one minute btfore Kia Ora completed her third round, Onane- V-e-ing e.ghteen minatcs astern of Kia Ora at that position. Onawo sailed tho race out, but sho was unr.bie to close <m Kia Ora. which finished second. Although marred somewhat in its esriy <tage* by a calm, this vras a fine race after the boats got going with a, fresh easterly wind. There was f<ome very close sailing in the third round. To Arai finished first, followed forty uecondK late: by Moamv, with Viking, Wiiterwitch. Muna. Rons., and Iranui in that rder. On time allowance, however, the rare went to Moana (Gmin), corrected time 4h:s smin 40sec; Rona v2omin), being oecond. 4hr« smin s.ljec; Te Arai (smin) j third, Jhrs Gmin; and Iranui (26min) fourth, 4hra Tniiu 3»ec. !
