"ON OUR SELECTION."
Tho famous comedy drama "On Our Selection" will bo presented to-night for tho first time in Christchurch by t thq Bert Bailey Dramatic Company, which has just completed a successful season at tho Opera House, Wellington. Tho play is based on Steele. Rudd's book Reports from Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, and "Wellington, are to the effect that the humorous element is more mirth provoking on the stago than in tho book, while certain interpolations by the dramatic authors (Messrs Bailey, and Duggan) aro said to greatly enhance tho story in its dramatic and humorous phases. Tho Bert Bailey new dramatic organisation which will produce the piece comprises some old favourites, and two new importations, specially engaged by the new firm. Miss Mary Marlow, a young English actress, ami Mr Guy Hastings, a popular English actor, will play the leads. Others in tho company are Mr Bert Bailey as Dad, Mr Fred McDonald as Dave, Mr Edmund Duggan as Maloney, Mr G. Treloar as Young Caroy, Mr Georgo Kensington as Old Caroy, Mr Jack Lennon as Cranky Jack, Mr William Driscoll as Undo, Mr A. J. Bertram as Joe, Miss Laura Roberts as Sarah, Miss Alfreda Bevan as Mum, Miss Lilian Addison as Lily White, Miss I Queenie Sefton as Mrs Whito, and other well-known artists will tako part. Tho plan will be open all to-day at tho Toy Cave, whore day sale tickets can also bo obtained. A late train will .leave to-night at 11.10 for Rangiora.
