CAPTAIN FORSDICK.
The .New Zealand Shipping Company has received a cable from London announcing the death of Captain J. P. Forsdick, a very popular and highly esteemed commander, well known in Canterbury. The captain was formerly in charge of "the Orari and Waimate, and earlier of sailing shins. His lasts visit was when he brought tho Huru•nui out on her mniden voyage last year. For the past twelve months ho "has been living in London. He leaves a widow and family. .Flags were halfmast at tho Port on Tuesday directly the news was known.
