THEATRE ROYAL,

The Wykeham-Nable Farce Comedy Company closed their Christchurch. season with a, reproduction of "The Belle of Newport."' kersand's"minstrels. Two entertainments wero given in tho Kiug'« Theatre on Saturday by K«sand's Minstrels, and both wore very ; largely attended. The minstrels present n progrnmmo which, contains some agreeable novelties, as well as quite a number of old favouritee. The concerted singing is very artistically done, and ono would wish that tho minstrels would give more of it. The company appear again this evening. The minstrels, with their band, will parade tho principal streets to-day. starting ot 12.30. The company will play at Timaru on Friday and Saturday. OPERA HOUSE. Tho vaudeviilo programme at the Opera House on Saturday was appreciatively received by a large- audience. This evening a new programme will bo presented, and several new artists will appear. The Dolinos, who aro wire walkers, will appear under special en- . gagement. Their work is said to bo exceptionally good. Harry Elliott, comedian and novelty dancer, will also make his first appearance. Marguerite and Hanleyv the Brooklyns, and several other popular artists," will also give bright and entertaining turns.
