Hodgson, whoso timo was 325 2-sth seconds, broko a world's record, beating Hatfield (England) and Foster (England) in tho semi-final of the Four Hundred Metres Swimming Raco (free style).
Hardwick (331 ceconds) was first in tho second heat, after a fino struggle with Lastorrcs (Hungary). Hoaly was third in 337 seconds, and Champion fourth. Thus Hodgson, Hatfield, Hardwick, and Lastorres compete in the final, likewise Healy, as fastest third man.
Hcbnor, of America, won tho Hundred Metres Backstroko in 81 l-sth seconds.
In the Four Hundred Metres Flat Running Race final, Reidpath, of America (48 l-sth seconds) was first; Braun,-of Germany (4S 3-10 th cecbridS; second; Lindberg, of Ajmerica (48 2-oth seconds) third.
America won three out of the first four places in tho final of tho Team Race of three thousand motres. Sweden was second.
