(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, July 12. It was originally intended that tho Aurora' on" her return ehould como direct to Wellington, but owing to ono of the sailors having broken a leg during dredging operations, it was thought advisable to put into Lycfceltou to secure early medical aid. .It is probablethat the exploring vessel will come hero in the courso of a few days, but her absence will not interfere with the programme already arranged. This contemplates an early exhibition of tho Mawson kinematograph pictures, for which over four hundred invitations will bo issued. Mr Conrad C. Eitelj secretary of the expedition, who arrived in town from Christchurch this morning, says ho cannot understand how tho statement got abroad that tho films taken on tlte recent cruise were unsatisfactory, as he states tliat over two thousand feet of magnificent films wero obtained. In Sydney over three thousand people witnessed tho exhibition of Mawson pictures, tho illustrative lecturo being delivered by . Professor. David, who accompanied tho Shackleton•expedition. Whilo in Hobart an equally successful address was given by Dr. Mercer, Bishop of Tasmania. Tho lecturer in Wellington will be Captain Davis, of tho Aurora. Captain Davis is said to bo an excellent speakor. Besides showing tho scenery of tho far south, the pictures will illustrate tho biological work of Mr Edgar It. Waite, curator of tho Canterbury Museum; and his assistant Mr Haynes, who were members of tho last expedition.

Thero are five members of the expedition at Macquario Island,, which was visited by tho Aurora during her cruise. Twenty, including Dr. Mawson, are at the main base in Adelie Land, and ©ight are at tho secondary base about a hundred miles from Gaussberg. There aro three New Zoalanders in tho party (without reckoning Captain Davis), namely, Mr H. Hamilton, son of Mr A. Hamilton, director, of- tho Dominion. Museum; Dr. Whettor, .of Dunedin, and Mr Anderson.
