LINWOOD CITIZENS' ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the-Linwood Citizens' Association was held last night in tho Linwood Chess and Draught Club room, Rolleston street. Mr" W. H. Denton presided over a largo attendance of members. The, proposal for improvements to the Linwood Park, including a band rotunda, dressing-rooms, and seats, was fully discussed. The Chairman said it was only right that Linwood should have a rotunda the same as other suburbs. He estimated the cost. at about £200, and said that if they could collect £100 they -would receive a subsidy of £100. • He thought dressing-rooms should be erected under tho rotunda, and that seats should be placed around the park. The park could bo made one of the best, in Greater Christchurch. Hβ suggested that collecting cards should bo distributed amongst members and athletic bodies who were interested in the movement. Mr E. Smith supplied plans of tho proposed rotunda, and said that if they were adopted the rotunda would bo second to none in Christchurch. It was derided to set up a committee to* forward the movement,, tho committee to consist of all members of the Association, with power to add to their number. It was also resolved that a special meeting should be called to arrange details,, and that-members of all sports bodies interested should be invited to attend. The question of improving Linwood avenue was discussed, several members complaining of "the bad grading of the road. A resolution was passed thanking the Beautifying- Association for tho work it had already accomplished * on tho avenue. Several members complained of the danger-to traffic by the position of the tramway line at tho corner of Buckley's road and Linwood avenue, and Messrs W: Ballinger. F. Ball, and L. Ornaandy, were appointed a deputation to wait on the Tramway Board in regard-to the matter.
