LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Gopd Intent Lodge, 1.0.0.F.,M.0., Akaroa, held on Thursday, was largely attended, and Bro. J. R. Newton, N.G., occupied, the chair. Bro. L. Haylock was appointed tieasurer in placu of Bro. J. R. Newton, who resigned that position after a lengthy term. P.P.G.M. Newton was installed as N.G., Bro. H. Newton as V.G. The N.G. nominated Bro. C. Hall as R.S., and Bro. G. Kearney as L.S. Tho V.O. appointed Bro. R._Spooner as U.S.. and Bro. L. Falkinuer as I/.8. P.P.G.M. Bruce acted as installing officer. Three new members were proposed and three initiated, P.P.G.M. Leete, Lecture Master, performing that office. Sick pay was granted to five brethren.

The members of Court Thistle of tho Forest, A.0.F., held ite half-yearly meeting •■'n Tuesday, a very fair representation of the brethren being present. The question of a. subsidiary High Couit for New Zealand occupied a considerable amotmt of time, tho delegate to the Conference . held at Wellington recently giving a lengthy resume of the proceedings there. "Ultimately it was decided to leave tho question over to tho next summoned meeting. The half-yearly balancesheet elicited marks of approval from various members, at the satisfactory condition of the funds. Bonuses of £11 12s 6d and £3 12s 2d were passed to two of tho members who had attained the necessary age' to receive them.- The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows:— C.R., Bro. G. J. R. Procter; S.C.R., Bro. E. C. Paul; S.W., Bro. F. Jacobsen: J.W., Bro. S. A. C. James; 5.8., Bro. A. Cameron; J. 8., Bro. .L. E. Brown; minute secretary, Bro. H. Ward, P.D.C.R.; and treasurer, Bro. F. P. Luce, P.D.C.R.; medical officers, Drs. Diamond, J. R. Thomas and M. G. Louissoh. '
