Sir, —Please allow mc space to endorse the remarks made by your correspondent ''Disgusted" in your issue of the 9th with respect to the bad state of'tho side channel in the Papnnui road near Paparoa street. To mc it has long boon a matter of astonishment that tho local authority in charge of tho district, the Waimairi County Council, should be so glaringly neglectful as to leave such an important thoroughfare in such a neglected condition- While we see the back thoroughfares in all parts of the suburbs asphalted and channelled, this important main, road is left in. a. disgraceful condition, both as regards tho channels and footpaths. it is certainly timo the Papanui residents awoke to this matter and took steps to have improvements made in these matters. —Yours, etc., WM.
