Cl "TIIE PRESS." .Sir, —The member for Avon was quite within his rights in securing a freehold bl-jck of 60,000 acres quite recently, and no doubt if circumstances had been favourable he would have done so years ago. But what tne ordinary man cannot understand is that Mr Russell is constantly taunting the Reform Party with representing large landowners, and at the same time closely following in their wake. A man may call himself an advanced Liberal, but when the question of acquiring wealth is concerned he possesses the same instincts as the most •'corrugated" _ representative of the other side. —Yours, etc., CONSISTENCY.
