MR EDWARD HIORNS.
An old Christchurch identity in the person of Mr Edward Hiorns passed away on Sunday at Linwood, in his seventy-fifth year. Mr Hiorns forme*'ly kept the old Central Hotel, no-v known as tho Masonic, of which he was also tho proprietor. Somo years ago he sold out and retired. He Vent across to Sydney, and lived there for some years, and then travelled backwards and forwards between here and the Australian city until last year, when ho took up his residenco in bis old homo at Linwood. The loss of his wifo a short time ago apparently told on his health. Ho leaves 'a grown-up family, including two daughters residing in Christehurch, ono of them being Mrs W. H. Norton, wife of tho wellknown auctioneer.
