RECIPROCITY.
CANADA AND AUSTRALIA
United Press Association —By Electrio Te! egraph—Copy right MELBOURNE. March 1. A merchant who is going into business in Canada, in an interview with -Mr Tudor, complained that owing to the lack of shipping facilities, New Zealand was reaping tho benefit of Australia's pioneering work. Under present conditions, Australia had to be content with New Zealand's leavings. No butter has been shipped since tho discontinuance of tho Sydney-Van-couver service last year.
Mr Tudor indicated tho probability of an early agreement between Canada and Australia on the subject of a reciprocal tariff. Ne_otiations had already been opened, and tho urgency of the question was fully recognised, but until reciprocity was agreed upon, it was useless to discuss the question of a direct shipping sevice.
