GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS.

(BY OCR COIMEBCIAL EDITOR.)

Friday evening. The break in the weather is most unfortunate at the present time, when harvest was just getting into full swing. The rain which set in on Thursday afternoon and continued till next morning, appears to have been general, and was sufficiently heavy to necessitate soveral windy days to dry the stooks. Good progress has everywhere been made with the cutting of oate, and a considerable area of wheat is now down.. There has been very little threshing of wheat done yet, but several sales have been made during the week at 3s 3d to 3s 4d, at country stations. Oats are not coming in very rapidly, and the demand for them is fairly keen. Some shipments are being made to Australia, though the demand from that Quarter is somowhat uncertain at present. Sales range from Is 10d to 2s, at country stations, for prime samples. Barley is soiling at 4s to 4s 3d, and uo to 4s 6d for extra prime samples, and there is also a demand for prime barley of last season's growth. There is a fairly, largo quantity of ryegrass offering, but merchants comDlain that the" bulk of the seed is very light, and prime samples scarce. Sales are being made at Is 8d to Is 9d for light, and up to 2s and 2s 3d for prime heavy samples. ' .
