MOUNT HERBERT

The monthly meeting of the Mount Herbert County Council was held on Monday, Cγ. It. A. Bradley in the j chair. The half-yearly balance-sheet was received from the audit department. It was resolved that all unpaid rates, with 10 per cent. added ? bo sued for, after 14 days' public notice being piven. It was resolved that the Council apply for an overdraft at the bank for a sum not exceeding £500. Cr. Field drew tho Council's attention to the lack of accommodation for vehicles ;at the jetty nt Pnrau. It was decided 'to view the locality and to extend the road as soon as the labour was available The chairman reported that the stone bridges nt Governor's Bay needed repairing, and it was resolved to put the work in hand at once. The tender of Mr Hall for the cocksfoot growing on the Kaituna road was accepted. Cr. Davenport gave notice of motion:— "That the travelling allowance, as allowed by tho Act, be paid to any member of the Council applying for same."
