Shuja was scratched for all engagements at the C.J.C. Spring Meeting at 9 a.m. yesterday.

St. Bees and Mere havo been scratched for all engagements at tho C.J.C. Spring Meeting. Negative was scratched for all engagements at tho C.J.C. Spring Meeting at 2.30 p_m. yesterday. Mr H. Chisholm, the well-known Sydney 6tock and station agent, is at present on a visit to the South Island. He will bo present at the New Zealand Cup Meeting. The Wellington Racing Club will consider the advisableness of substituting one milo and three furlong races in lieu of the milo and a-quarter handcap events at present on its programme.

B. Deeley will ride Vice-Admiral in the New Zealand Cup, A. Oliver will be on Merrivonia, and F. D. Jones will be up on Goldfinder. "*

Martine, who last year won the Canterbury Oaks, will be ridden in the New Zealand Cup by C. Emerson. Tannhauser and Projectile are considered unlikely starters for tho New Zealand Cup. Kilostere struck himself yesterday morning, and at one time it -was thought the Kilcheran oolt would not be a starter for the New Zealand Cup. However, the injury was not nearly ko serious as was first imagined, and Kilostere may be regarded as a sure starter. He will bo ridden by R. Young.

A meeting of tho Amuri Turf Club was held on Saturday. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of £23 16s. It was decided to hold the annual sports meeting on December 20th, and tlie usual programme was arranged, includ-'na the Flying Handicap of £10, Amuri Handicap of £20, Open Trot of £10, with several district hack events. The officials weTc re-elected, except Mr F. E. Croft, hon. secretary, who resigned, and in his placo Mr *S. Cardwell was appointed.
