SOUTH CANTERBURY CONFERENCE.
(PB-SS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) TIMARU, May 29. Tbe annual conference of the South Canterbury Branch of the Farmers' Union to-day was largely attended. The conference discussed the question of affiliation with tho Employers.' Union, which, was disapproved of for tear «t being involved in industrial awards. A proposal to form a political party connected with the Union was also disapproved of, but it was decided to refer the information on the subject to the branches tor consideration. Several farmers expressed strong objection to the new railway regulation regarding delivery of goods at small stations on certain days only, as it caused inconvenience when goods were wanted urgently, such as bags at threshing time. Mr John Talbot was re-elected president, and to represent the branch at the Dominion Conference.
