The different turns Avere much appreciated and the performers were heartily applauded. To-night the programme will b;i repeated. WEST-HAYWARD PICTURES. Tlie West-llayward Pictures attracted another big house at His Majesty's Theatre last night. In addition to the ordinary programme, two new pictures were shown, one depicting thc King opening Parliament, and the other, a coloured film, .presenting glorious views of New Zealand alpine scenery. The programme will bo repeated to-night. SYDENHAM PICTURES. A new programme was presented at the Sydenham Picture theatre last night. Many films of outstanding merit were shown. The industrial subject clearly demonstrated the making of margarine butter, and proved an interesting number. Another good film was a coloured tiicture, "A Collection of Postage Stamps'" Among the dramatic pictures, " Sleepinu Pills, or the Adventures.of Nick Carter," proved the most exciting. "A Plain Song" and "The little Fiddle" Avero also pleasing items. Some exceptionally good humorous subjects, including "A Summer Tragedy" and "What Happened to Brown" were shown, also somo beautiful seenio pictures. The musical portion of the programme, arranged by Sir Louis D. Austin, was most appropriate. The same programme will be repeated tonight. OLYMPIT RINK. Enthusiastic skaters are looking forward to the advent of tho opening of the Olympia Rink, which takes place next Saturday morning. School boys and girls will be admitted to the Saturday morning sessions at specially reduced rates. Tho Rink Band will play at both the afternoon and evening sessions on Saturdaj*. CANTERBURY COLLEGE BAZAAR. The students of Canterbury Collego open their bazaar nt the Alexandra Hall on Friday next at 3 p.m. The proceeds will bo devoted to defraying the cost of sending a body of representatives to Auckland to compete in the annual Intor-'Yarsity Tournament. The usual stalls will be in evidence, and theso are being controlled by a strong i force of lady students. A special feature of tho bazaar will Tie the entertainments in the Victoria Hall, and there will also be a good selection of novel side-shows. "BLUE BIRD" RECITAL. Mr Wilson Fritch, the American orator, will recite and interpret Ma?ti*linck's drama "The Blue Bird" at the Alexandra Hall on Tuesday evening next. ■ ORGAN~RECITAL. An organ recital of selected works of Mozart and Crieg will bo given by Dr. Bradshaiv, city organist, in His Majesty's theatre, on Saturday afternoon. WAINONI PARK.
