Tuesday Evening. Business this week in the grain and produce markets has opened very quiet. The turn-over in wheat and oats is very limited, holders of wheat being firm and oats very scarce. A few small sales of milling wheat have been made at 3s 3d to 3s 4d at country stations, but tho demand on the part of millers is not at all keen.

The ryegrass seed keeps firm, and is still being turned over in fairly large quantities. The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers, at country stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated:—

Wheat (nominal) —Extra prime Pearl and Velvet 3s Gd, milling 3s to 3s 3d, damaged 2s 7d to 2s Bd, at country stations.

Oats (nominal) —Gartons 2s to 2s 3d, Duns A and B grades, Is lOd to Is lid; heavy, Is lid to 2s; lighter, Is 6d to Is 8d; Danish, Is 8d to Is 9d, at country stations.

Ryegrass—Perennial, 281b to 301b (machined), 3s 8d to -Is; Italian, 3s 3d to 3s 6'd; dressed (well defined), 4s, at country stations.

Cocksfoot—l6lb to 171b; 7_d. Cowgrass—7d to 8d; white clover, 8d to 9d for undressed seed.

Flour—£9 per ton. Bran— £4 15s, local £4 10s» f.0.b., per ton.

Pollard—£s 10s per ton,

Oatmeal—£l2 per ton. Ontsheaf chaff—Bos to 82s 6d for bright, at country stations. Dairy factory, o.d, dairy 3d, loaf s_d; butter, factory 12d, farmers' separator lOd, dairy B_d, bacon, sides 7_d, rolls Bd. hams 9d; honey, extracted, 3d per lb, wax Is 2d per lb; lard (packets) 7_d; fresh eggs 9d per dozen.
