SQUADRON v. CHRISTCHURCH.
A cricket match was played at Hagley Park yesterday between a team from the Australasian Squadron and a team representing Christchurch. lhe Squadron's representatives batted first and put up the ?ood score of ".88. Engineer-Lieutenant Pratt, Staft-Pay-master Pearson, Engineer-Commander Crabtree, and the Rev. Ford batted in good style The Christchurch team found their opponents bowling by no means difficult, and largely sis the result of vigorous hitting by Turner and Orchard, passed the Squadron s total with si\ wickets down, and when play ceased had scored 306 with four wickets still in hand.
