RIFLE SHOOTING FRAUD
PIGOTT FOUND GUILTY. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received December Ist, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 1. Pigott was found guilty of false pretences in obtaining £100 and a badge in connection with the shooting for the King's Prize. There was a strong jocommendation to mercy on the ground of his previous good character. Ho was sentenced to twelve months' hard labour. Sentence was suspeuded on condition of his finding sureties for good behaviour for twelve months. Sureties were immediately forthcoming. The offence that led to Pigott'B arrest was sending in a forged score-card at the 1000 yds range in tbe final stage for the King's Prize. He was declared tho winner, though he did *ot shoot at that range.
