. (rRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November '30. In the Supreme Court to-day decrees nisi wero granted in the cases of Mary Ann Ellus v John Thomas Ellis, desertion; Mary Gibb v Robert Gibb, misconduct; Brender-Gordon Kean v John Kean, desertion: William Morris Barton v Mary Ann Barton, desertion and misconduct. In the case Julia Wilson Smith v Harold Wilson Smith, an application for a decree on tho ground of drunkenness and cruelty, his Honour declined to make a decree until tho regulations under the new Law were complied with. Elizabeth Peace, boardinghousekeeper, gave evidence that at the ago of sixteen, in the year 1886,. she married William Peace, who deserted her twelvo months later. In 1890 she was informed that Peace had been killed in an accident in Dunedin. She road an account of such an accident in a newspaper. Three years later she went through a form of marriage with Peter McCabe. She lived three years with him; then he left her and went off with another woman, whom he had since married. After twenty years' absence. William Peace turned up in 1907. In 1908 Mrs Peace obtained a divorce, on the grounds cf desertion. A petition for a declaration of the nullity of her marriaae with McCabe was granted. Jessie Catherine Nelson was granted a decree nisi against Frank Nelson, otherwise Oliver Bambridge. a lecturer who she stated had married her in Auckland, and loft her in America, penniless.
