NEW ZEALAND GRAIN IN LONDON.

Our London correspondent, writing on October 21st, says:—ln forward position there is quite a number of parcels of wheat offered, mainly on passage and for prompt shipment. Buyers o these, however, are difficult to find, and the more distant arrivals appear to bo in better request. Messrs Weddel cay that for f.a.q. and sample lots 32s to 31s 3d ci.f. per 4801b has been obtained in the case of a few sales made. On the &pofc there is only a moderate demand, and prices range from 3-ls Gd to 33s for the best samples, to 33s to .«s for average lots, and down to ««s tor the inferior qualities dealt in. On account of the free offerings of ™ts, at relatively lower rates, of Russian descriptions of "fine quality, and also Home crop oats, colonial kinds meet with but little attention, and Messrs Weddel and Co. have no forward sales to report of the last-mentioned sorts. Nor do the small arrivals of new season from New Zealand interest buyers to ■my appreciable extent, prices of which this firm quotes as folloms: Gartons I7 s 6d to 19s, Sparrowbiils 17s 6d to l?s Gd, r> uns i7s to 18s, Danish 16s to l" s pc,. 3201b, ex store. i«e Home crop of beans offering at

32s 6d to 33s per 5321b delivered is having its effect on prices of New Zealand kinds, and although stocks on spot of the latter are by no means large, trade is of a very retail character at prices in the neighbourhood of 34s 6d to 36s nor 5041b. ex store. Messrs "Weddel and Co. say that the demand for colonial Maple or Partridge peas continues very poor in face of tho low rates' asked for new Home crop offerings, and prices are nominally unchanged. Cocksfoot is firm, and prices continue to advance. Prices in New Zealand have risen above the level of United Kingdom markets, and re-sellers arfc much cheaper, being willing to sell 161b to lTib seed at 72s 6d to 73s 6d per cwt., ci.f., London.
