A semi-official statement has been published to the effect that the consultation with the Mufti Pasha, who objected on reli_ious grounds to the execution of Wnrdani for the murder of tho Egyptian Premier, Boutros Pnsha, was a pure formality, as a sentence cannot be altered unless the Court of Cassation orders a new trial on legal _rounds.
