At -Wellington on Saturday, a number of Maoris, including several chieftains, were iutrodticed to the Prime X infeter (Sir Joseph Ward) by i ho Native Minister (the Carroll). They presented ah address the Maori people's sorrow at the« death of King Edward. Tho Prime Minister -undertook to forward the address to tho Governor for despatch to England. Sir Joseph read to the natives Kins George's reply to telegrams of sympathy and loyalty which had been forwarded on behalf of tho Maoris.
