Tiie Christchurch Literary and Musical Competitions' Society will resume the cflpipotitum- being hold by it at- 10 o'clock this morning, and they will bo eontipqed during the day. The con. will be varied in character. At tho morning session the first to "be taken will be the recitation for ladies (15 and under 21): the other contests w ill jip mezzo soprano sqlo, commencing af 10.30 j Irish song (ludy or* gentler nqin), coramohcing at 11.13; piano dqet (any age), cotnine'pain'g at. 11.15; apd huiii6rous song (for lady Or gentle-, piun), commencing at 12.15. In thp qfternoon the piano solo (12 years and Under 15) will commence at 2.15, the mandolin sojo at 3.15, tho soprano solo (saorcd) at 3.40, recitation (hoys 15 and under) at 4.10, 'piano'duct (H? years ajpl Uiujer) at 4.33,' and violin solo (16 years and under) at 5 p.m. In tiie Oveping sspasion, commencing at 8 o'clock, tho finals, of'most of "the contests hpld during thc day will be decided. In addition, tho comedietta contest and the male quartet contest will tako place.
