Bates's weather summary and forecast, issued _t Wellington at o "p.m. i yesterday, wero as follows:—Fair weather j has prevailed, with moderate southerly winds j in the north and west, backing to northerly ' in the southern districts. Present indica-! tions are for a falling barometer everywhere s-iorlly; easterly winds, moderato to strong ! iii the north, and freshening northerlies else- j where. Increasing haziness is probable gene- | rally,, and unsettled weather on tho West j Coast atid Southern districts soon.
