« ,— NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. The Council of the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening, Mr E. Nordon presiding. Power was jdvon to the Auckland Association to affiliate the Whangarei and Goldfields Associations. The Council decided to enquire what wer- the boundaries between Auckland aud the Waikato districts before giving a decision whether Cambridge could be affiliated with Auckland. A sub-com-mittee was appointed to obtain information regarding the boundaries of the various Associations . throughout NewZealand. Mr A. S. Lindsay, the delegate representing Nelson at the annual meet-' ing, objected to the ruling of the president at that meeting regarding the election of vice-presidents of the NewZealand Association, and in a letter mentioned, the grounds on which he based his objections. Tho Chairman said that at the annual meeting bo ruled in a legal manner. It was never intended by the framers of the rules that Canterbury men should bo nominated as vice-presidents. If such were the case the various Associations could at any.timo swamp, their executive officers by nominating men in. Christchurch as vice-presidents. The Nelson Association forwarded a motion expressing surprise at tho action of the New Zealand Association disregarding the nomination of Mr W. Johnston as a \-ice-pa-e_ident. The Association endorsed the protest lodged by their delegate,, Mr Lindsay. It was decided to write to the Nelson Association askinc the name of the president of their Association. The Hawke's Bay Association asked tho Council, in view of the fact that the English Hockey Association had abandoned tho idea of sendins a team to New Zealand this season, whether they could arrange for an Australian team to tour the Dominion. The ciJ thought that this would not be possible this season, but instructed tlie .secretary to make enquiries regarding the visit of an Australian team next year;. The Buller Association asked the Council to remove the. disqualification from tho Kohaha Club, and from a member of the same cluh w-ho was subsequently disoualifieYl for two years for playing'hockey", while his club* was debarrecTfrom playing. As the term of 'disqualification imposed on the club had expired, ifc did not requiro tho Council's sanction for the club to play. It was decided, however, not to remove the penalty imposed upon the player. ADBIXGTOX CLUB.
