Acland (a member of the Board), and Messrs R. Hcaton Rhodes and H. G. Ell, MLP.'s, waited on Sir Joseph Ward this afternoon, in his capacity of Minister of Defence, regarding the proposed chair of military science -hot it has been suggested should bo established in connection with. Canterbury College. They had & long' talk with Sir Joseph on this matter, fm 0 trainin B of offioers generally, flic Prime Minister informed them that no decision liad yet been come to in. regard to the education of officera, though a proposal -wcus Being formulated with a view to sending some ten students for a year to the Military College which would bo established in Australia. He was at present considering proposals to put before Cabinet, and these would in due course, bo submitted to Parliament. In tho mean- * time he oould not make-any detailed 6tatement in regard to the intention-} -' of Hie Government. .
