SHIPPING NOTES.
It has been definitely decided that the "White Star liner Athwiic will leave Lyttelton at 5 p.m. to-day for Gisborne and "Napier. According to present arrangements the vessel will not return to Lyttelton this voyage, but will go from Napier to Wellington to complete loading. The Athcnic will leavo Wellington on Mey 19th for London.
During the past three days there has been a heavy range in the hirbour, and a high swell along the coast, which is taken .by shipmasters to indicate that thero has be'en a very heavy easterly or south-east gale far out from the New Zealand coast. In that case, tho

Hart; the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's marine superintendent's assistant at Wellington. He has been suej eeed-ed by Mr O. D. Inman, who has had j charge of the clerical work of the company's j stevedoring department at Wellington for I the past six years. Mr. F. W. Prince, ot j Wellington, will succeed Mr Inman.
