ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

(BT OUft COMMERCIAI, EDITOR.) There was a large yarding of all classes of stock, and especially of sheep and lambs, and a good attendance. Store wethers and lambs showed a considerable decline, but ewes of the best class aliout held their own. Fat lambs were down from 6d to 9d per head. Fatcattle showed little or no change. The fa"*:- sheep market was decidedly weaker, esjiccialfy for ewes. There was a dull sale of store cattle, but dairy cows were in demand. Bacon pigs sold well, while porkers and stores met with poor competition. . , STORE SHEEP. ' The" entry of store-sheep was not so large as last week, and though there was a good attendance of buyers the demand was much slacker than of late, probably due to the setting in of cold and-frosty weather. Wethers and lambs suffered most in value; in the former case from Is upwards, while lambs were about Is down. Good ewes sold relatively better than any other class of stores, but aged and inferior sorts could only be quitted at lower prices than those ruling of late. Medium wethers made 12s 3d to 13s, fair to inferior 8s 6d to 12s, good lambs 10s 3d ,to lis, medium 9s 3d to 10s, small and inferior Us lOd to 9s, two, four, six, and eight-tooth ewes (good) 15s 9d to 16s 3d. fair to medium 10s (id to 12s 6d, aged and inferior 4s 7d. (culls) to 8s 6d. The sales included the following lines: — Ewes: 18 at 10s, 26 at lis 7d, 244 at 16s 3d, 114 two, four, six, and eighttooth at los 7d, 160 at 4s 7d. FAT LAMR& The yarding of fat lambs was much larger than last week, and owing to the delay in untrucking, the sale was late in finishinc, a commencement having to be made with fat sheep before the lambs were all sold. There was a good den>„nd ior export, but buyers were operating on a lower basis, and prices for tegs were Cd to 9d below those realised last \teek, and inferior lambs were even lower. Ordtnary freezers made 12s Cd to 14s 6d, tegs to 15s 9d, and light and unfinished lambs 10s to 12s. The total yarding was 10,621, or nearly 2000 more than the previous week. Thero were 8522 taken for export.. 38ij'by butchers, and 1713 were passed in at prices ranging from 9s 3d to 14s. The principal sales were:— L. H. Maddison (Dunsandel). 130 at I4s lOd to Lis fkl; .1. The bulk of the entry again consisted of ewes. Though there wa.s a good demand, the large supplies resulted in a considerable weakening of prices for all classes.
