TAI TAPU.

A very successful dance in aid of tho funds of the Tennis Club was held in the hall on Tuesday night. About fifty conplos were present, mnsic being provided by Mr Simpson, of Prehbleton. The proceeds shonld give substantial assistance to the club's finances.

A meeting of subscribers to the library was held on Saturday. Mr Forbes occupied the chair, and explained that at a previous meeting it had been decided to hold a social and dance in aid of the funds, and ti keep up general interest of the district in library matters. It was resi lved that tho social be held in May. and .1 committee was appointed to arrange for a concert programme.
