PROFESSOR AGASSIZ
United Press Association—By Electrio Tolagraph—Copyright. (Received March 30th, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 30. Th© death is announced of Professor Alexander Agassiz, th© well-known scientist.
The late Professor Agassiz, who was born at Neuchatel, Switzerland, in 183-'), went to the United States in ISIB, and was educated at Harvard and at th© Laurence Scientific School. H© was apj-inted assistant in tho United States Coast Survey in 1859. He took part in the explorations of the coral reefs of the Hawaiian Islands in 1899, the Great Barrier Reef of Australia in 1898, the Fiji Islands in 1897, and many other expeditions.
The Natidnal Mortgage and Agency Company received cable advice yesterday from their London office announcing the death of the London manager, Mr Walter Brodie, which took place on the 26th inst. Th© lat© Mr Brodie had many friends in the Dominion, who will read with regret the news of his death.
