The Rev. D. C. Bates's weather summary I and forecast aro as follow:—Cloudy and changeable weather has prevailed, with rain in parts, and especially about Cook Strait. The barometer has continued high but unsteady, and the winds variable, but with strong south-westerly winds prevailing south of Cook Strait. Present indications are for a rising barometer with moderate to strong southerly winds. The weather will probably j be .loudy and misty, cool and wet in parts. .
